Paloma is an indigenous women from the Chanka nation. She was born in the US and was raised between the US and Peru. Paloma grew up connected to her cultural practices but disconnected to her indigenous identity. Paloma has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont, USA a Masters degree in International Relations from the University of Queensland, Australia and a lastly a Graduate degree in Peace Building and Conflict Resolution from the European Peace University in Austria.
Paloma’s academic and lived experiences led her to start Saphichay. She believes that being connected to ones roots – ones ancestry and identity is what gives us all the inner strength, value and respect we need to help decolonize ourselves and the world we live in.
